Presidential candidate Yassir Arman visited Ed Daein and Nyala yesterday as part of his electoral campaign.
In Nyala, the capital of South Darfur, the Humanitarian Affairs Commission (HAC) and the security authorities refused authorisation for the displaced people to receive Yassir Arman, prominent member of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM).
The authorities justified the decision claiming that the license application requires a visit of two days instead of only one day. Addressing a gathering on the city square in Ed Daein, the capital of East Darfur, Arman called for peaceful coexistence and the beheading of the devil — a reference to the National Congress Party (NCP).
The assistant political secretary of the SPLM in Ed Daein, Sabah Hamid told Radio Dabanga that Arman called on the people to vote for him in order to solve the Darfur problem.
