SAF: ‘UNAMID loss of weapons in ambush is dangerous’

KHARTOUM (9 Mar.) – The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) considered the loss of arms and munitions in the UNAMID ambush as destabilizing to the security situation in the Jebel Marra area. In a press conference yesterday, the spokesperson Colonel Khalid al Sawarmi of the SAF did not clearly accuse the UNAMID of supplying the rebels with arms and equipment. But he said that SAF concluded this information through monitoring and surveillance and it is not a one-sided source. Sawarmi also expressed fears of the dangerous situation in the Jebel Marra areas.
