Flood drowns villages in far southern Darfur

Floods last week hit the remote villages of Sungu and Jemaizah in the area in the area of Hafrat Al Nihas in the far south of Darfur. The waters fully destroyed cultivation of the residents, according to Adam Taj Al Din, one of the elders from the area. He said Tuesday that heavy rains which began a week ago were still ongoing and had left the villages inundated with water, causing a complete halt to the lives of citizens. He appealed humanitarian organizations and the state and central government to speed up relief to citizens.
