The tuition benefits of the students was cut off when the administrators said that the Abuja Agreement had expired, ending the special status of the Darfuri students.Khaled Abdullah called on the students concerned to go to register at the university until next Thursday.

In a statement on Sunday, he said that the Ministry of Finance has committed, in response to the Union’s demand, to pay tuition fees for students from Darfur. However, he warned student political organizations against politicizing the student issues. Radio Dabanga had earlier focused attention on the issue of the more than 4000 Darfuri students at the University of Khartoum who were being denied registration for housing and studies.
