Nighttime gunfire, food situation trouble residents at N. Darfur camp

A source among the internally displaced people (IDPs) at Abu Shouk camp on the outskirts of El Fasher complained of deteriorating security conditions and food at the camp. The displaced told Radio Dabanga that unknown people have been firing around the camp at night, creating a state of fear and panic. Similar nightly gunfire has been reported recently in Kalma Camp. The IDPs told Radio Dabanga that rains last week swept away a number of residences camp and caused other damage. The camp is home to about 57.000 displaced living in an area approximately 2.55 square kilometers, according to the United Nations.
