Three people were killed and two injured in an armed attack by suspected Misseriya raiders against the Borno. One of the omdas (tribal leaders) said that the gunmen also looted cattle and camels in the region. He said the attack took place because of accusations that members of the Borno in those areas supported the Rizeigat during the previous war with the Misseriya. The omda also revealed that the was a cattle raid within Kubum town, during which were looted the cows of Adam Daoud and Hamid Obeid. The source asserted that the situation in the region is tense and potentially explosive.
On the other hand, Ibrahim Jibril Mudeh, an MP from Kass and one of the Misseriya notables, said that what happened was the work of individuals and not the tribe. He said that a number of cattle were retreived. The raiders headed toward Mukjar in western Darfur, he told Radio Dabanga from Nyala.
