Merger of 2 Darfur factions: Daifallah Al Jabouri joins Abdel Wahid
The leader of a little-known rebel faction in Darfur announced the merger of his “Movement of Nomads” with the Sudan Liberation Movement of Abdel Wahid Al Nur. Daifallah Abdelrahim Al Jabouri, in an interview from the field with Radio Dabanga, declared that he and his 1857 followers have joined Al Nur’s group, which is sometimes known as the “legacy” SLM faction.

Daifallah Abdelrahim Al Jabouri, in an interview from the field with Radio Dabanga, declared that he and his 1857 followers have joined Al Nur’s group, which is sometimes known as the “legacy” SLM faction.In an appeal for unity and more recruits, Daifallah Al Jabouri invited all the sons of the Arab tribes to join the Sudan Liberation Movement to fight against the government of the National Congress Party for the rights and demands of the people of Darfur. He accused the National Congress Party of marginalizing nomads and all the sons of Darfur, and creating discord among them. He called on everyone to unite.
A spokesman of the Arab group had announced to Radio Dabanga in mid-October that they were joining the rebellion. The spokesman said at the time that the National Congress Party had used them since 2003 to achieve its own agenda in the region. At the time he put the strength of the group at 1500 fighters.
At least two other Arab groups have defected from government ranks in the last month, including a group 180 army soldiers who joined the Justice and Equality Movement.
