National service recruits demonstrate over wage arrears in Nyala

About 300 national service recruits demonstrated in Nyala yesterday in front of the headquarters of the secretariat of the state government. They demanded wages for three months in arrears. The police cordoned off the area and ordered the owners of the nearby shops to close. The authorities formed a committee consisting of a representative of the governor, the commissioner of Presidential Affairs Maj. Gen. Mohammed Hasan Bayrak, and a representative from the police. They were tasked with addressing the crisis immediately, regarding the question of salaries and immediate disbursement.
