The displaced people camped around Garsila in West Darfur are facing a deteriorating humanitarian situation because of deteriorating security and rising food prices. One displaced told Radio Dabanga that the price of a sack of millet has risen from 60 pounds to 140 pounds. A sack of sorghum rose to 110 pounds from 40, and a pound of sugar arrived at 2.5 pounds. A piece of laundry soap costs a pound, while a gallons of oil rose from 6 to 25 pounds.
