The presidency of the rebulic has approved the step.Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud, the minister of state of the host country of Qatar, said in press statements yesterday after meeting with President Omar Al Bahir that he briefed Bashir on the mediation’s efforts in the Darfur peace process. He said that he emphasized to President Bashir that it is important for the government delegation to complete the consultations on the Darfur peace document.
The spokesman of the government’s negotiating team, Dr. Omar Adam Rahma, told Radio Dabanga that the Qatari mediator informed the president that the mediation will try to bring a final agreement with the parties by the end of the month. Dr. Rahma said that the government is not going to negotiate again, but only is sending a small delegation composed of two or three who will stay in Doha.
