Risk of mass strike at Nyala Teaching Hospital
The doctors of the Nyala Teaching Hospital threaten to go on strike in order to protest against their working conditions. A source from the hospital told Radio Dabanga that they submitted a memorandum to the hospital management yesterday, demanding a better work environment as well as the renewal of essential medical supplies. Key equipments such as stethoscopes, gloves, blood-pressure measurement devices are missing, and the rehabilitation wards need refurbishment. According to our source, the doctors gave the management one week to meet their demands, after which they will go on strike and eventually resign from their position.
