One teenage girl was killed and three children wounded in an air strike by the Sudanese Air Force (SAF) on Torgi and Al Buram localities in South Kordofan on Tuesday.Arnaud Nico, spokesperson of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) in South Kordofan, told Radio Dabanga that the SAF carried out 11 airstrikes on Tuesday, five in Torgi and six in Al Buram.
The attack resulted in the death of 15-year-old girl, and serious injuries among three other chilren.
East Kadugli bombing
In east Kadugli, eyewitnesses reported that the SAF bombed the city at around noon. One of the residents told Radio Dabanga that Antonov aircrafts had dropped approximately 17 bombs on those areas that flew overhead.
“Thick smoke could be seen from long distances. The residents of those areas and all civilians had fled to the mountains and valleys looking for cover from aerial bombing,” he said.
The citizens of the village of Ilbati which was affected in the air raid appealed to the international community to intervene immediately and protect civilians from aerial bombardment as well as provide urgent humanitarian aid to those affected.
Aerial bombardment in South Kordofan have heightened recently, with the UN issuing a statement forbidding the SAF from carrying them out.
