They were heard shouting, “People are hungry, but a coward is in power,” and “Revolution, revolution until victory.”
Alliance gaining momentum
The Sudanese opposition alliance is gaining strength to overthrow the National Congress Party’s (NCP’s) rule led by President Omar Al Bashir, a spokesperson of the coalition forces told Radio Dabanga on Sunday.
The announcement came in the backdrop of widespread demonstrations in various regions in the North.
Farouk Abu Issa, spokesperson of the opposition alliance, called for all the resistance forces to work together in order to overthrow the regime in Khartoum. “It is better to be dead than to live such a life of humiliation,” he was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, Kamal Omar Abdas Alam, an official of the Popular Congress Party (PCP), also encouraged people to get on to the streets and overthrow the regime.
