Imprisoned HR activist starts second food strike
His brother asks for clear prosecutions or his immediate releaseThe prominent human rights activist Dr. Bushra Gamar went on a hunger strike for the second time on Monday to protest against the over three months detention he is being submitted to without prosecutions. His brother, Dr Ezzeddine Gamar, told Radio Dabanga that Bushra is now at serious health risk in his Kobar Prison cell, adding that he had been diagnosed with various conditions, including a heart disease, asthma, a chest infection and a herniated disc.Dr. Ezzedine called on the Sudanese authorities to provide his brother with a fair trial should there be charges against him, or to release him immediately. He added that Sudanese judicial authorities had already ordered his release on the 14th of August, but he was arrested again by the security authorities on premises by the judicial system, an act he described as bullying and insulting.
