Kutum: 3 killed, 7 injured in gunmen attack

Witness says police did not move to helpThree people were killed and seven were injured in the city of Kutum in North Darfur on Thursday. A witness told Radio Dabanga that seven Gunmen opened fires at two on Thursday morning , aiming at more than 15 people working in the gold-mine fields. He added that the people were asleep in shops in Kutum market, 10 meters from the police station when the firing started. The injured were taken to Kutum hospital for treatment, while three people died in the attack. The perpetrators also plundered the area. The witness said that despite the victims’ resistance attempts and cries for help, the police did not make any move to help the population despite being so close to the attack.
