Farmers warn of drought, crop failure in Sirba
Farmers in Sirba in West Darfur warned of the failure of the agricultural season this year in the region due to a stop in rainfall after the crops have come close to reaching maturity. A citizen from Sirba told Radio Dabanga that if it does not rain in the coming few days, the region could witness a sharp food crisis.

A citizen from Sirba told Radio Dabanga that if it does not rain in the coming few days, the region could witness a sharp food crisis.He stated that the people have turned to prayers in hopes of rain falling to save the agricultural season in the region. The farmers also complained of armed herders bringing their livestock in some farms and preventing ranchers from entering despite the low harvest expected this year. He also stated that the people tried to seek help from the police to stop the assault on farmers but in vain.
