Sese to swear in as DRA president
Says he will also announce ministers and commissioners of the body on SaturdayTijani Sese, the head of the Liberation and Justice Movement (LJM), will swear in as the president of the Darfur Regional Authority (DRA) when he arrives in Khartoum on Saturday, he told Radio Dabanga.Sese was appointed as the president of the DRA by Sudanese president Omar al-Bashir last month in line with the Doha peace agreement, which was signed between the Sudanese government and the LJM in July this year.Sese told Radio Dabanga that he will swear in as the president of the DRA on Saturday and subsequently announce 11 ministers and five commissioners who will be based in El Fasher.“The LJM will be represented in the state governments of Darfur and state legislature. There will be three ministers at the federal level. We will also take charge of one of the new states in Darfur,” Sese told Radio Dabanga.He added that DRA will include the people of Darfur in its decisions and that he considered the TDRA as belonging to the people and not the LJM.Sese will be accompanied by Qatari mediator and deputy foreign minister Al Mahmoud and the rest of the LJM members. They will meet in Khartoum with officials from Sudanese government in order to implement the Darfur Peace Agreement (DPA).Before leaving from Doha, Sese told Radio Dabanga that the return of the LJM delegation to Sudan means the complete transfer of the movement’s activity to the country.Sese is expected to pay visits to El Fasher, Nyala, El Geneina and the capitals of the proposed states of Central and East Darfur – Zalingei and Al Daein.
