Nearly 1,700 Sudanese refugees from Libya came to Salloum a few months ago during the Libyan revolution and have been stranded there.“There were heavy rains on Saturday and Sunday during the protests and destroyed most of the camps. We are now living in the open without shelter or food. The situation is going to get worse in winter,” a refugee told Radio Dabanga adding that this poses a major risk to their lives.He said that there were random shootings every day from the Libyan border, which is 500 meters from the camp.“There is severe food shortage and spread of epidemics combined with shortage of medicine and treatment,” he said.
