Army attacks youth in West Darfur

Three younsters injured and four arrested in a racist attackThree youngsters were seriously injured and four others arrested in West Darfur’s Mornei refugee camp, after the Sudanese army raided a youth club on Saturday.A witness told Radio Dabanga that an amry vehicle opened fire on the youth camp which left two youngsters – Abdul Malik Ahmad Ali, Yasser Awad seriously injured. The two have been taken to the El Geneina hospital, whereas another refugee Khamis Ali sustained injuries to his head.The army attributed the arrests to a fight between the camp residents and their personnel. The witness who spoke to Radio Dabanga said that the attack was of a racist nature.“One of the refugees had struck an army personnel after the soldier had made some racist remarks against him. The army came looking for him to the refugee camp after he managed to escape. The soldiers made arrests and fought with the refugees in the club after the president said he had no knowledge about the escaped refugee’s whereabouts,” the witness told Radio Dabanga.
