Diphtheria reaches 8000 in North Darfur
The spread of diphtheria has now reached 8000 people in North Darfur, a witness told Radio Dabanga. Witnesses said that citizens want the state and national governments to investigate the causes of the rapid transmission of the disease which appeared recently in Tawaisha and El-laiet Jar Elnabi County, Abu Bakr Fadl the Executive Director of the Darfur Network of Organizations said that there were vigorous efforts to send convoys of doctors, medical staff and medicines from eastern Darfur, El Fasher and Khartoum to help those trying to manage the situation.
