Prices double in Nyala
The prices of consumer goods are increasing sharply in South Darfur, particularly in the city of Nyala, said a citizen to Radio Dabanga. The road from Khartoum passing Ad Daein to Nyala is being heavily regulated by the security services and government forces, causing a blockade of commerical vehicles along the route, similar to the situation reported recently in North Darfur. The source said the local authorities in Nyala are preventing the entry and exit of citizens. This is making living conditions even more difficult, as the prices of every day groceries, such as onions are reported as doubling.
