Students arrested at Neelain University
On Tuesday security forces arrested five students and wounded four others taking part in a debate at Neelain University in Khartoum. A student told Radio Dabanga that National Congress Party affiliated students backed by security attacked whilst a student was urging people to get out on the streets and overthrow the regime. The armed NCP students attacked the debating students, and were supported by the police firing tear gas and beating them with batons. Four people were injured, with two being struck in the face. The source said police have now deployed to roads leading to Neelain University, as well as on the campus itself. Neelain students organized a demonstration in solidarity with people affected by events in Manasir, walking from the University to Jackson Square in central Khartoum.
