Homes destroyed by fire in West Darfur IDP camp
A large fire broke out in Bindisi internally displaced persons (IDP) camp in West Darfur on Tuesday destroying 42 homes. A camp leader told Radio Dabanga that the fire spread rapidly helped along by high wind speeds. Residents struggled to control the blaze. He said the IDPs affected by the fire are living in very difficult conditons with no shelter, blankets or food. The leader appealed to government agencies and humanitarian organisations to provide assistance to those impacted by the fire.
