Armed group steals salaries belonging to child protection workers in El Geneina
An armed group looted an employee at a children’s protection organisation, working in El Geneina internally displaced person camps, in West Darfur. A witness told Radio Dabanga, four armed men attacked the employee named Muhammed Sharif at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday morning. Sharif had collected wages of the organisation’s staff from the bank, and was traveling back carrying 48,000 Sudanese pounds when the armed group appeared, shooting in the air and demanding Sharif hand over the money. The perpetrators fled with the money. The witness said the incident has been reported to the police.
