Abu Shouk facing acute water shortages
Abu Shouk displaced persons camp near El Fasher in North Darfur is facing acute shortages of drinking water. A displaced resident told Radio Dabanga the reason for the lack of water was the suspension of four water pumps, along with hardly any working water tanks. He added that families are forced to queue for hours to collect water, in long lines that last late into the night. The witness noted that the majority of familes, particularly large ones, are unable to provide water for all the family needs, such as washing clothes and cooking equipment.
