Abu Delik families spend a fourth day at UNAMID HQ
120 newly displaced families from Abu Delik and Sag Al Na’am stayed a fourth day at UN/African Union Mission in Darfur headquarters in Zam Zam displaced persons camp near El Fasher. The families are yet to reach a solution with UNAMID, who they are demanding must provide them with full protection and relief. They were terrorised on arrival to the camp by Abu Tira forces (central reserve forces), which forced them to seek refuge at the UNAMID base on Tuesday. UNAMID asked them to leave, but they have refused to do so until they can be guaranteed security. A witness said the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs met with the families yesterday, but could not persuade them to leave the base.
