Sudan Revolutionary Front claims to shoot down plane
The Sudan Revolutionary Front claimed to shoot down an unmanned Sudanese army plane in Jau in South Kordofan on Tuesday morning. The drone was filming in the areas the Front controls, usually followed up by an attack from ground troops, but we managed to shoot it down at 1120 this morning, said Badawi Musa Sakin spokesman of the Justice and Equality Movement. The Front decided to collect all parts of the drone as evidence to be used later against the ruling National Congress Party. The Sudanese army acknowledged a drone went down this morning but said it was due to a technical fault. The plane was part of air force training and launched from Kadugli without a pilot, it then mechanically failed and came down somewhere between Toroge and Lake Abyad, said army spokesman Al Sawarmi Khaled Saad to the government news agency SUNA. Al Sawarmi said the air force are continuing their training in the area.
