Woman stoned to death for trying to protect daughter
A woman was stoned to death on Sunday by two gunmen in Kabkabiya in North Darfur.
The woman went with her daughter, 12, to fetch water on returning to their home the gunmen attacked them in a valley near their village, said a witness.
The gunmen tried to rape the daughter but the woman moved to defend her. A gunman grabbed a rock and threw it at the woman, he proceeded to hit her with more rocks killing the woman, added the witness to Radio Dabanga.
The incident was reported to the local police.
In Khartoum three gunmen raided a house of a newly married couple on Saturday morning, raping the new bride in front of her husband.
Sources said the men raped the man’s wife and then stole cash from the house before fleeing.
