Secondary school student murdered, motive unclear
Members of the Central Reserve Forces (known as Abu Tira) have allegedly murdered a secondary school student named Abdul Moneim Zakaria Adam, resident of El-Salam camp near El-Fasher in North Darfur. Sources told Radio Dabanga on Friday, 30 November, that members of Abu Tira opened fire on the student on Friday evening, while he was on his way from Abu Shouk camp to El-Salam camp. The motive for the murder remains unclear, the sources added. North Darfur camps’ coordinator, Omda Ahmed Ateem, told Radio Dabanga that the student was on his way back to El-Salam camp when he was attacked. Ateem stated that ‘the displaced are continuously exposed to looting, violence and killings by government forces and its militias’. He called on UNAMID ‘to perform its duties towards the displaced and their properties’.Radio Dabanga file photo
