Sudan rebels implement ‘plan B’ following ‘tactical withdrawal’ from Abu Karshola

The Sudan Revolutionary Front (SRF) has announced the beginning of the implementation of its ‘plan B’ after completing what it terms “a successful withdrawal from Abu Karshola”. SRF Deputy President Minni Minawi repeated that the withdrawal has occurred “without a fight or any confrontation with government forces”. “When the government forces arrived in Abu Karshola, they found it deserted,” Minawi told Radio Dabanga. He said that while there are still rebel forces monitoring the area in spite of the withdrawal, ‘plan B’ would now target what Khartoum’s forces consider to be a ‘safe area’. “The people of Sudan should prepare themselves for news of one of the regimes ‘secure areas’ falling under the control of the SRF,” Minawi said.File photo: SRF Deputy President Minni Minawi
