Heavy air raids on areas north and east of Korma, North Darfur
During a bombardment on Friday by an Antonov aircraft allegedly belonging to the Sudanese Air Forces (SAF), three people were reportedly killed in North Darfur. Witnesses reported to Radio Dabanga that the SAF, since 8am on Friday morning until the afternoon, launched intensive air raids on the areas of Kawra, Simo and Kofir, north and east of Korma.This resulted in the death of Salih Musa Yahiya, Maimuna Adam Salih, and Hassan Abdelkarim in the area of Kawra, and a large number of injuries. The air strikes also killed dozens of livestock, and completely destroyed two water pumps in the area of Simo. The residents of Korma and the surrounding villages appealed to the UN and the international community to immediately intervene to protect civilians in the areas targeted by aerial bombardments.
