Ongoing air raids kill three in Darfur’s East Jebel Marra

An Antonov of the Sudanese Air force reportedly killed three people north of Khor Mali village in East Jebel Marra. Sources from East Jebel Marra told Radio Dabanga that on Friday morning at around 6am, Musa Haroun Salih (75), Mahjoub Adam Yahya (25), and Khadija Ismail Adam (12) saw an Antonov hovering above the village of Khor Mali, located about 35km west of Tabit. They feared that the village would be bombed and fled towards the farmlands. During their flight the Antonov targeted them with two bombs, killing them on the spot. The air craft also bombed 45 cows, 2km west of the village, killing them all. The sources reported that the aerial bombardments on the East Jebel Marra region which started last Friday have continued until Friday. The residents of the region have renewed their appeals to the government to stop these indiscriminate aerial bombardments targeting civilians. They are also appealing to the international community, the UN Security Council, activists and human rights organisations to pressure the government in order to protect them. In addition, they are requesting Unamid as well as humanitarian and medical organisations to immediately intervene in East Jebel Marra.
