All 24 camps for the displaced in Wadi Salih locality in Central Darfur are facing an extremely difficult humanitarian, health and security situation. Hussein Abu Sharati, the spokesperson for the Association of the Displaced persons and Refugees of Darfur reported this to Radio Dabanga. “There is no security at all. Government-backed militiamen can do what they want with complete impunity, in addition to the violent clashes between the Salamat and the Misseriya, we recently witnessed.” Abu Sharati also reported that the camp residents are suffering from a dire shortage of drinking water and called on the UN to really protect the displaced and provide them with clean water, food, and medicines.
