Club owner killed, village attacked in South Darfur
One man was killed and four others injured in two separate incidents on Monday evening in Kasslocality of Kass in South Darfur. Listeners told Radio Dabanga that on Monday evening two “government-backed militiamen” wanted to visit a “television club” in the area of Hashaba, east of the town of Kass. When the owner refused to let them in, they shot him dead. On the same evening, militiamen on camels and horses attacked Tartura village, south of Kass. They indiscriminately opened fire on the villagers, injuring four of them. Two were taken to the Nyala hospital in serious condition, while the two others could be treated in the hospital of Kass. The reason for the attack has not been clarified yet. The sources added that the residents of Tartura, and also of the neighbouring villages, Sunjuwa and Dilu, left their houses on Tuesday morning, seeking refuge in Kass. File photo
