Rizeigat, Gimir tribes reconcile in South Darfur
Gimir and Rizeigat tribes signed a local reconciliation agreement, following the murder of three Gimir tribe members, two Abbala (Rizeigat camel herders) and the wounding of three from both parties, in Katila locality in South Darfur on Wednesday. The latest conflict between the tribes was caused by the Rizeigat herders’ entry of their camels onto the farms of people from the Gimir tribe. The reconciliation was reached in the Antikina Administrative Unit, under the auspices of a local popular joint committee from both tribes that was moving from Nyala city. The committee concluded its visit with the signing of the agreement on Wednesday morning. Both parties and the citizens of the region expressed happiness at achieving the reconciliation.
