Three injured in Darfur road robbery
Three men have been seriously injured in an attack by militiamen on the road leading from Birkat Seira in Saraf Omra locality, North Darfur, on Wednesday evening. One of the victims told Radio Dabanga that they were driving in a commercial vehicle in the area of Bamba when about 20 “pro-government militiamen” in military uniforms in a Land Rover, mounted with a machine gun, intercepted it. They forced the passengers out of the vehicle and beat them with rifle butts before looting them of their money, mobile phones and luggage. The gunmen broke Adam Hassan’s hand, wounded Sayf El Din Abdel Jabbar in the head and stabbed Saleh Hussein. Afterwards, the assaulters stole the four wheels of the vehicle and abandoned the victims.
