At least 10 dead, 20 injured in RSF attacks on Kutum, North Darfur

The attack on the area of Donki Baashim in Kutum locality, North Darfur, by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on Monday, has resulted in the death of at least ten people, and the wounding of more than 20 others. North Darfur State Member of Parliament for the northern Kutum constituency, Mohamed Ahmed Minawi (known as Tikeish), reported that the wounded have been transferred to Mellit and El Fasher for treatment. The Baashim water station was destroyed and its guard slain. Minawi condemned the widespread acts of killing and the looting of livestock and property of the citizens. He accused the national government of not taking the achievement of security and peace seriously, and appealed to humanitarian organisations to accelerate intervention for the “rescue and protection of the displaced”. One of the people who fled from Donki Baashim told Radio Dabanga that he estimated at least 15 people were killed, and more than 30 others wounded during the RSF attacks. “Many girls and women were raped and abducted.
