Um Gunja displaced arrive in Gireida, South Darfur
About 200 South Darfuri families who fled militia attacks on the areas on Um Gunja and neighbouring villages on 27 and 28 February arrived at Gireida locality on Thursday. About 40 children from Um Gunja who lost their relatives during the fighting are being hosted in the locality’s camps for the displaced. Speaking to Radio Dabanga, a resident of Gireida reported the people fled the area southeast of Nyala to the areas of Sani Deleiba and Birkatuli in El Salam locality.
