Power outages stop North Darfur hospital activities
The surgical operations in the Women’s Specialised Hospital in El Fasher, capital of North Darfur, have stopped since Tuesday. All procedures have been transferred to the health insurance complex in El Fasher. A source working in the health sector attributed the stop of surgeries to power outages. “The city has been living for more than two weeks in a drinking water crisis and intermittent power cuts,” he told Radio Dabanga. A number of citizens have accused the officials in the government of monopolising water resources, and trading in them.
