Miller arrested by Military Intelligence in North Darfur
On Friday, forces of the Military Intelligence in North Darfur violently arrested a grain mill worker at the market of Tabit, 30km south of North Darfur capital El Fasher. One of the relatives of the miller told Radio Dabanga that elements of the Military Intelligence attacked Adam Hamad Jakous inside his workplace at the Tabit market on Friday afternoon. “They severely beat him in front of the people until blood flowed from all parts of his body. He was then taken to the office of the Military Intelligence inside the army base of Tabit. The reason was apparently that they had found a gallon of diesel at his workplace at the grain mill.” The relative appealed to human rights organisations to intervene and save Jakous’ life. “He should be released or be brought to justice.” File photo: A miller starts his automatic mill at El Mawashi market in El Fasher (Albert González Farran/Unamid)
