Sudan aircraft bombs health centre in Darfur’s Jebel Marra

The Sudanese Air Force destroyed a health centre in Kaguro, northwest of Fanga, in East Jebel Marra on Friday afternoon. A resident told Radio Dabanga that the Antonov aircraft dropped three bombs on the health centre, established by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), north of Rokoro town. It was destroyed completely. “The explosions transformed the health centre into a deep hole. Medicines that were in the depot centre, and other contents and equipments from refrigerators, were scattered on the ground.” The witness commented that the air force’s targeting of government services, health centres, schools, water resources, and markets is “aimed at the destruction of livelihoods and the forced displacement of people”. He called on the UN, the Security Council, and the international community to stop the bombing, impose a no-fly zone in Darfur, and bring the perpetrators to justice. On Wednesday, aerial bombardments killed three people, and injured others at the market in Fanga, one of the biggest markets in East Jebel Marra.
