Militia troops deployed around Sudan’s capital
The director of the National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) on Sunday ordered three paramilitary Rapid Support Forces brigades to be deployed around Khartoum. NISS director Mohamed Atta Abbas El Moula dismissed rumours about a coup attempt, though he said that the RSF brigades should remain “stand by and be 100 percent alert”. The Khartoum state police also announced that its forces are “fully prepared”. No explanations were given for the decisions.
