Militia blocks Nyala airport road in South Darfur

Troops of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) blocked the Nyala airport road in South Darfur on Sunday. Three vehicles were stolen in Nyala the same day. Over the weekend, four lorries loaded with sugar, were hijacked in West Darfur. A listener told Radio Dabanga from South Darfur’s capital of Nyala that the RSF troops, commanded from Khartoum by the security apparatus, were angry because of the delay in payment of their salaries. “It seemed that the RSF administration quickly settled the payment, as the troops withdrew from the road on the same day.” The source added that the RSF troops during their action intercepted people on their way to the airport district, and robbed them of their belongings, before telling them they could not proceed.
