Arab League projects to open in Darfur

The Darfur Regional Authority (DRA) has announced that several service projects that the Arab League has built in Darfur will be opened over the next few days. The openings will coincide with visit by the Special Envoy of the Secretary General of the League, Sheikha Hessa Al Thani. DRA spokesman, Minister Abdul Karim Mousa, told Radio Dabanga that the visit of Sheikha Hessa will take several days, during which many of the projects carried out by the Arab League in the humanitarian and development fields in the region will be opened. He said the emphasis is on the construction of model villages in order to encourage displaced persons and refugees to return voluntarily to their villages of origin.
