West Darfur displaced protest murderers’ release

Residents of the Kondobe camp for the displaced in Sirba locality, West Darfur, demonstrated on Wednesday against the release of militiamen who killed a displaced farmer. “Kondobe camp resident Ibrahim Mohamed, nicknamed Kangour, was murdered on Saturday, while he was tending his farmland near the camp. A team of army troops, policemen, and citizens managed to capture the killers on the same day. We were shocked to hear that they had been released,” the coordinator of the Sirba camps told Radio Dabanga. The displaced demanded from the governor of West Darfur to protect the displaced, and dismiss the commissioner of Sirba locality, accusing him of cooperating with the militiamen in the area.
