‘Sudanese forces killed in Central Darfur’: rebels
Troops of the Sudan Liberation Movement led by Abdel Wahid El Nur (SLM-AW) killed seven elements of the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) and Abu Tira forces in the north-eastern part of Rokoro locality, Central Darfur, on Thursday. The military spokesman for the movement, Mustafa Tambur, told Radio Dabanga that their forces attacked the soldiers and troops of the Central Reserve Forces (known as Abu Tira) in Kakor area. The battle lasted one hour. ‘We killed seven government troops, wounded others, as the rest of them fled to Rokoro,” Tambur said. He added that the rebels managed to seize a number of various weapons and ammunition, which are still being counted. They have tightened their control of the area and secured it, he claimed.
