‘No rebel attack on North Darfur military base’: Tibra residents
Residents of Tibra, in North Darfur, denied the occurrence of a battle between government forces and rebels of the Sudan Liberation Movement, led by Abdel Wahid El Nur (SLM-AW) on Sunday. Speaking to Radio Dabanga, multiple sources from Tibra, Tawila locality, reported that fighting broke out on Sunday between the rebel forces themselves, “not between the rebels and government forces”. “An internal conflict about the management sparked the fighting”, as one of the sources explained. “There are no government forces here. The entire area is controlled by the SLM-AW.” File photo: SLM-AW forces in Tawila, North Darfur Related: Rebels claim attack on Tibra military base in North Darfur (7 September 2014)
