Ruling party official killed in South Darfur ambush
Armed robbers ambushed two vehicles in Buram locality, South Darfur, on Saturday. One National Congress Party (NCP), official was killed. A group of 30 NCP members, travelling to Nyala, capital of South Darfur, was intercepted by gunmen near Buram town on Saturday morning, about 9 am, a listener told Radio Dabanga from Buram. “The NCP officials were on their to attend a party conference in preparation for the 2015 elections, and to nominate a candidate for the position of state governor,” he explained. “About 10 km north of Buram town, the two vehicles were ambushed by 14 gunmen on horseback. They fired at the vehicles, which led to the death of one party member. Two guards shot back, after which the vehicles managed to escape.” File photo
