Computers stolen from Central Darfur refugee camp

On Sunday, seven computers were stolen from a youth centre in the Um Shalaya camp for Chadian refugees in Azum locality, Central Darfur.     Wardi Bahreldin, representative of the refugee camp, reported to Radio Dabanga that a group of gunmen wearing military uniforms raided the Subul Kasb El Eish youth centre on Sunday evening. “They beat, tied, and blindfolded the two guards, and put them in a store room. They then stole the computers, and fled.” Bahreldin explained that the youth centre is run by the organisation Save the Children-Sweden, and provides vocational training in the fields of blacksmithing, carpentry, masonry, as well as computer courses.   File photo: Fadul Adam Mohamed (22) shows his welding skills in a new workshop run by a youth association in El Geneina, West Darfur, October 2013 (Albert González Farran/Unamid)
