Two killed in East Darfur clash, Unamid vehicle hijacked in North Darfur
Two people were killed and two injured in the area of Labado, Yassin locality in East Darfur on Saturday. On Thursday, a vehicle belonging to Unamid was hijacked in El Fasher, capital of North Darfur. Speaking to Radio Dabanga, the omda of Labado, Abu Zeid Adam Ibrahim Khater, reported that on Saturday afternoon a group of about 40 militiamen on camels and horses raided the area of Labado. “The gunmen came in two groups, and attacked the area from the west and the east. They stole about thousand sheep and goats, forty cows, more than 15 donkeys, and a large number of camels which we are still counting.” The omda said that a rescue team was formed, that tracked the thieves. “The team found them, and in the ensuing fire fight, Omar Mohamed Idris Atiya (45), and Adam El Tom Musa (40) were killed.
